- Droppings near food storage, in cabinets, or along baseboards
- Chewed wires, insulation, wood, or food packaging
- Grease marks along walls where rodents travel repeatedly
- Nests made from shredded paper, fabric, or insulation

Why DFW Has Year-Round Rodent Problems
Texas doesn’t get cold enough to kill off rodent populations in winter. They stay active year-round. DFW’s construction boom makes it worse. New developments displace rodents from fields and vacant lots straight into nearby homes, especially older neighborhoods near construction zones.
Roof rats thrive in North Texas because of mature trees. Norway rats are common near the Trinity River floodplain. House mice need only a small gap under a garage door or around a vent.
Climate, geography, and urban sprawl make rodent problems common across the metroplex.
